Fort Pierce, FL Artists Reception will be held on Friday, April 8.
Italian born artist, Ivo David, founder of the "Fusionism Movement" will show his work at a muliti-artist exhibition titled "Fine Tuned" at the A.E. Backus Gallery from March 30th to April 16th. This exhibition will showcase his recent work of vibrant paintings depicting local scenes around Indian River and Fort Pierce.
Ivo David was featured on the cover of the Vero Beach Magazine in November along with 11 pages of his paintings and included his amazing life story. His work has recently been shown as the featured artist at the Artist Guild Gallery for the month of January; on the Vero Beach Art Club's Art Trail; at the recent Art by the Sea show at the Vero Beach Museum of Art and was at the Backus Gallery last year in addition to being in many European galleries including the prestigious Biennale Internazionale in Florence, Italy. Ivo David is a classically trained artist from Italy who began his work as a youngster following in his father's footsteps and at one time even thought of being a monk. "Mary Jayne Kelly, Executive Director of the Cultural Council and I caught up for a while with Italian artist Ivo David in front of his colorful oil painting, Farmers Market - Vero Beach. David, whose work was chosen last year to represent the Hibiscus Festival enthused, “My art is an expression of color, of life, of things that make us feel comfortable. I’ve been an artist all my life. I live art, I breathe art, and my daddy and grandfather were artists.”
Ivo David is an Italian American painter and founder of
"Fusionism '56" as described in his Manifesto of Fusionism. He creates impasto oil paintings of landscapes and the people inthem and religious paintings including a series devoted to The Divine Comedy with works depicting Dante's Inferno, Purgatory and Paradise. Many of the paintings and drawings of The Divine Comedy are in the permanent collection at the Museo Dantesco di Torre dè - Passeri. Casa di Dante, Museo Fortunato Bellonzi, Abruzzo, Italy

In 2009 Ivo's painting of downtown Vero Beach was chosen as artwork for the 2009 Hibiscus Festival poster. He is also one of six local artists whose work is depicted on the downtown banners sponsored by Main Street Vero Beach.
